THE CENTAUR THEATRE 2016 PROGRAMME
This graphic originally started out as simple reinterpretation of the archery bow that the Centaur Theatre's original logo carries in his arms. From there I went into the hyper-detailed, rich toned textured pattern that forms the basis of the rest of the book. Dealing with a season full of existentialist plays and classic examples of some of the finest playwrights our planet has to offer, I decided to venture into the unknown not-so-distant future. As these plays have been shown in multiple cities with different actors and various playhouses, I thought it was time to deal with the next elephant in the room... Artificial Intelligence. I have been enthralled with the thought of robots and technology since I was a child in love with Spielberg and Kubrick. One day we will have to face a very confusing issue of whether or not robots can be concious as well, and exist with us, pondering life and our place in the galaxy. I was a huge fan of theatre and film and screenplays as a child and spent a number of afternoons seeing some memorable shows throughout my life. Although the tones may be much more quiet than I may normally work with (to cater to the aesthetic of a semi-conventional theatre bill), I allowed both the concept and detailed illustrations to still scream with my personal touch.
