For the pictorial symbol project, our goal was to pick an animal, render it as realistically as possible, and then create an abstract form using multiple techniques to result in a logo for a mock-client. The puffin has particular features that make them stand out; their beaks have a pronounced striped pattern, their plumage which is a high contrast of black and white and finally their ever smiling eyes.
