PIANO SUTRAS
This poster was created for a fictional Matthew Shipp concert at la Cinquieme Salle in Place-des-Arts. Shipp is an American experimental jazz pianist, renowned for his intellectual approach to composition. Throughout his collection of pieces 'Piano Sutras', Shipp constructs melodic patterns only to then deconstruct them. Inspired by this concept, the imagery follows deconstructed vector lines into an organic structure that disseminate a feeling of mathematic precision amidst a chaotic appearance.
GET REAL
This poster was runner up in the vernissage branding contest. The theme 'Get Real' is a call to the transition from student to the real professional world. It is also a social commentary regarding the blurred lines between real life and online persona. The lettering was linocut for an organic feel then digitized for ease of manipulation. Yellow was chosen for energy and when placed against the sage green background, it vibrates. An extended sans-serif was chosen for the info type, to contrast with the massive organic shapes of the block letter.
FEMMES ET POUVOIR D'AGIR
Poster created in context of the Marc Choko contest. The image depicts a uterus as a slingshot, a symbol of inherent female power. The poster was inspired by communist silk screen protest posters.
