Chelsey Stuart-Duval

My name is Chelsey Stuart-Duval, and I am completing my final semester in the Graphic Design professional program at Dawson College.

In my study of Graphic Design, most particularly in this last year, I have tackled increasingly challenging projects in order to push my limits, hone my skills, and identify my strengths. My ability to view projects from multiple perspectives allows me to develop several distinct concepts and evaluate the merits of each. I believe this is critical to good design, as any single idea can be perceived in several ways; exploring each can better tailor the final product to both the client and the target audience.

The discipline I use in my design process was acquired over years of participation in community and professional sport, from small-town figure skating competitions to provincial AA hockey and consecutive world championships on the under-24 Canadian mixed and women‘s dragon boat teams, with whom I cumulatively won twenty gold medals in Tampa Bay (USA) and Szeged (Hungary). This is also true of my community work; I founded and was the president of a new chapter of the Canadian non-profit Students Offering Support at Concordia University from 2011 to 2014 with whom I led two humanitarian outreach trips to build infrastructures to help local students in Panama and Nicaragua.
