Semester 4 - Poster for a John Cage concert performed by John Medeski. John Cage plays an important role in the development of minimalist music, electronic music, modern dance, and performance art. He has an iconic way of understanding music. Indeed, he believes that music is “a purposeless play: an affirmation of life - not an attempt to bring order out of chaos nor to suggest improvements in creation, but simply a way of waking up to the very life we’re living”. This poster presents a picture of a white corridor. It represents the name of the album “Four Walls” as well as the idiom from where it comes from: “staring at four walls”, meaning intense boredom. All of the text is white, reminding the viewer of the fact that the album was composed using nothing but white piano keys. The picture is taken by myself.
