eight semiotics

Semester 4 - Symmetry, balance, simplicity, single-lined. These are all characteristics of the number eight that inspired me. I wanted to do this semiotic project on this number because I have a (healthy) obsession to it. During my research, I discovered this number has various meanings in different cultures, myths, religions, and traditions. I divided this book with ten meanings of the number eight, each one including a historical and a contemporary example. They are ordered from oldest to most recent. The ten meanings are: eight for new beginning, eight for mind, eight in feminism, eight for harmony, the infinite eight, eight for transportation, eight for strength, eight for equality, eight for time, and eight for chance.
