Annie Atkins Interview
An “interview” booklet with Annie Atkins for subject. Annie Atkins was a revelation to me. I spent a lot of time not knowing what I would like to have as a career, knowing that what truly excites me is the possibility of working on a film set, possibly in the art department. I stumbled upon Annie Atkins and realized that the job I was yearning for existed and that I could achieve it with help from my education in graphic design.
I emailed Annie Atkins for an interview. She responded and even commented on my portfolio that I had sent attached, complimenting my typography. Unfortunately she was too busy to respond to my interview questions, but I was able to scour the internet for almost every interview she ever gave and ended up learning a lot in the process.
Narrowing it down to the best questions, I laid out the final text in a newspaper format printed on newsprint (reminiscent of her career designing period pieces for film), highlighting her sometimes quirky and always very meticulous work.
