Man & the Machine
My first video animation using After Effects. The goal was to find a machine to animate with the theme of Man & the Machine. I selected the security camera to be able to build a relationship between the ‘Man’ and the ‘Machine’. In this case, it is the Man vs the Machine as the Man is trying to escape the Machine until it becomes an integral part of it. As the video is only 10 seconds, I focused on keeping the visuals simple and on beat to the tune of Rockwell’s Somebody’s Watching Me.
Mass Surveillance
This video was the next step to animation with a chosen machine (mine being the surveillance camera). With 30 seconds I was able to go more in depth and decided to present facts in the form of pros and cons on surveillance to help viewers take a stance on the issue. The animation was done with simple triangle vectors to give a unified look to the illustrations and make the video easily shareable and understandable.
