The Little Prince

This was a project where a topic was chosen that has influenced society. I had chosen The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The structure is a light box that is made out of acrylic. There are engravings of the prince along the lower panels of the base. This box is able to contain a CD, USB, and booklet. The light in it is a battery powered LED light that includes a remote with a thirty-minute timer. The box is hand made.
It is made out of acrylic, and super glue.
The inspiration for this project was to make a dome like structure. The mathematical term for that dome is an icosahedron, which is more of a ball. I removed five of the panels to instead replace with a base.
The story influences multiple generation of young and old. The light box is to have on a child’s bedside table as a night-light or a dim lamp. The light is battery operated so there are no wires to worry about. There is a remote that is included it has features like a thirty minute timer.
