Mixed media
This was a project for my Visual Communication course. Each student drew a music album at random and was told to listen to the music. Mine was Matthew Shipp’s album Piano Sutras. We had to feel the music and communicate what we felt to the audience. My music album was the majority of the piano but differed from jagged to smooth melodies.
The medium used was ink with a partially dry brush, acrylic paint, and glitter glue. The rest was photo manipulation. Photoshop was used to manipulate, but it was mainly the brightness and colour change. The rest of the piece was natural and from a scan.
The inspiration behind the piece was to incorporate textures to accentuate the smooth feelings that were felt. The harsher lines were to show and help the audience to feel the music.
